◈ OVERVIEW

Alien Legends is a browser-based battle RPG built within the Alien Worlds universe. Players recruit and develop Fighters — each with a unique race, class, and stat profile — and send them into dungeons, arenas, and tavern competitions to earn rewards and reputation.

The core game loop: travel to a Tavern to recruit new Fighters (costs Energy + Coins), then send a team of 5 into a Dungeon to battle enemies, earn XP, and collect Coins and Gems. As Fighters level up toward Level 10 they unlock greater power — at which point Ascension resets their level in exchange for permanent ability upgrades. Eventually, Arenas open PvP play between players' teams.

Owning Alien Worlds Arms and Crew NFTs grants battle modifier bonuses. The strength of each bonus scales with the card's rarity and shine tier — a single arms card and single crew card may be applied per battle. See the ALE STATS page for the full modifier table.

Each Fighter and ability belongs to one of six Elements: Air · Fire · Gem · Metal · Nature · Neutral. A planetwide Weather system rotates element buffs (e.g. +35% Gem damage), so checking the current weather before choosing a dungeon team can provide a meaningful edge.

Fighters grow through experience, levelling up to a cap of Level 10, after which they may undergo Ascension — a prestige mechanic that resets level but unlocks powerful new abilities and raises the power ceiling significantly.

CREDITS

In-game currency for revealing fighters at taverns*, paying fighters with "Payday", levelling them up, and boosting lands. Earned from selling fighters.

ENERGY

Your action resource. Used to enter dungeons, hire fighters at taverns, and travel across lands and between planets. Regenerates over time.

⚔ FIGHTERS

Every fighter available in a Tavern is randomly generated — meaning each one has the same chance to be an exceptional long-term team member. No two fighters are identical. Your potential fighter will be one unique combination drawn from 12 classes, 7 races, 6 elements, and up to three abilities from a pool of hundreds. These define the frame for your fighter. Beyond that, 17 individual stats fill that frame — determining how they perform in actual combat.

Each fighter in a Tavern is procedurally generated at the moment they appear. The same potential applies to every applicant — any one could turn out to be a star recruit for quite some time to come. There is no way to predict or engineer a specific fighter; exploration and judgement are key.

Fighters have 17 stats — including Health, Damage, Windup, Cooldown, and Taunt — that define their combat performance. Each stat is expressed as a range rather than a fixed value. At the start of every fight, one value is randomly selected from each range, meaning no two fights play out exactly the same.

Each Fighter belongs to a Race. Races provide passive stat modifiers and flavour the fighter's lore. When building a team, consider how racial bonuses complement your chosen class roles. Note: race data is being compiled — individual race entries will be filled in as details are confirmed.

HUMAN

Adaptable survivors from across the Alien Worlds colonies. Humans carry no extreme racial advantages or weaknesses — what they lack in raw power they compensate for with versatility and the widest class compatibility of any race.

Synthetic beings of mechanical origin. Robotrons are built rather than born — their chassis grant natural resilience against physical damage. Their artificial construction makes them resistant to biological debuffs but may limit their compatibility with some ability types.

Classes define a Fighter's combat role — whether they excel at dealing damage, absorbing hits, supporting allies, or disrupting enemies. Pair a class with a complementary race to maximise effectiveness.

Ancient guardians bound to the portals between worlds. Boasts very high survivability and very high taunt — almost every enemy strike will be drawn to the Voidwarden instead of your backline. Damage output is very low. Uniquely capable of "true damage" that bypasses enemy resistances entirely.

Arcanists twist volatile Trilium shards into devastating elemental blasts. Very high sustained damage, but very low health and very low taunt means they rely entirely on tanks to survive long enough to deal it. The classical glass cannon — protect at all costs.

Explosioneers are walking hazards — erratic, destructive, and impossible to predict. Their strikes occasionally bypass tanks entirely via random targeting, making them effective at chip-damaging glass cannons that hide behind a taunt line. Medium damage, very squishy.

Every squad's wildcard — equal parts menace and miracle. Desperados have the widest stat variance of any class: their results range from spectacular to catastrophic. They sometimes ignore resistances and carry secondary debuff abilities, but their unpredictability cuts both ways.

They walk the edge of reality. Half glass cannon, half group buffer — Mystics deal medium-high damage and can amplify the effectiveness of the whole team. Low health and low taunt means they're fragile, but a well-protected Mystic dramatically raises the ceiling of an already strong roster.

Voidcallers are the bane of light-armoured foes. They stay at the back, applying powerful group debuffs that weaken the entire enemy team. Low damage and minimal taunt-bypass targeting, but their debuffs significantly reduce what the enemy can output — ideal against enemies stacking resistances or damage.

Always an opportunist. The Tactician's strategy is simple: buff the team first, then unleash a slow but devastating AoE nuke. Low single-target damage and slow initiative, but the team buffs stack to make every other fighter hit harder before the Tactician even swings.

◉ STATS

Every Fighter has a set of core stats that determine performance in battle. Stats grow as the Fighter levels up and are further modified by Race bonuses and equipped AW NFTs. Below is a plain-English explanation of what each stat does.

❤️ HEALTH

The total amount of damage a Fighter can absorb before being defeated. High Health fighters withstand punishment; low Health fighters fall quickly under focused fire. Tanks are built around maximising this alongside Taunt. Higher is better.

💥 DAMAGE

The base amount of damage dealt per attack. Modified by the target's elemental resistance for the attacker's element. Some abilities scale off Damage or add bonus flat damage on top of it. Higher is better.

🛡 TAUNT

How strongly a Fighter attracts enemy targeting. Enemies preferentially attack the highest-Taunt Fighter in range. Taunt decreases each time the fighter is attacked, so tanks gradually become less magnetic as a fight wears on. Some abilities bypass Taunt entirely. Higher is better.

⚡ WINDUP (lower is better)

Determines attack order — who moves first at the start of a round. The Fighter with the lowest Windup acts first. A low Windup value means your Fighter strikes earlier, getting off damage and abilities before the enemy can respond. Think of it as initiative or speed.

🌀 COOLDOWN (lower is better)

The interval between a Fighter's attacks — how long they wait before acting again after each action. A lower Cooldown means faster re-activation and more frequent turns. High Cooldown (large number) means the Fighter waits longer between attacks. Think of it as attack speed in reverse: the number is the delay, not the rate.

🔮 ELEMENTAL RESISTANCES

Every Fighter has six separate resistance values — one for each element: Fire · Nature · Air · Gem · Metal · Neutral. A higher resistance value for a given element reduces the incoming damage from attacks of that type. For example, a high Fire resistance makes Fire-element attacks deal less damage to that Fighter. Some abilities can reduce an enemy's resistance, or ignore resistances entirely (resistance bypass). Higher is better for all six.

⬛ BUILDINGS

Buildings are the core infrastructure of your Alien Legends base. Each building type unlocks or improves different aspects of fighter management and progression.

Buildings are constructed by landowners on their Alien Worlds land plots. You don't build them yourself — you visit them. Two types exist at launch. Location matters: buildings on high-traffic tiles near portals attract more visitors, which increases footfall and shared reward payouts for the landowner.

The primary source of new Fighters. Each Tavern is registered to a specific land plot on a specific planet. You travel to the Tavern coordinates, Reveal up to 3 fighter cards (costs Coins), then Hire one for 100 Energy.

Taverns support filter criteria that can reduce the hire discount: schema, rarity, shine, element, type, race, and stat thresholds. Match the criteria and your hire costs less. One recruit is permitted per Tavern per day — if you Reveal and walk away, a refresh may sometimes be needed before the next visit.

The primary combat venue. Navigate to a Dungeon's coordinates, commit a team of 5 Fighters, and enter a run for 10 Energy. Each dungeon has tiered difficulty levels — higher tiers award more XP and better loot. Running a nearby dungeon also contributes to the building owner's reward pool, making well-placed dungeons valuable community hubs.

Watch the current planet Weather before choosing your team: elemental buffs rotate regularly and a +35% damage bonus to your team's primary element can make or break a run.

⚔ ARENA

The PvP layer of Alien Legends. Enter an arena, view a snapshot of the defenders, select your squad and send your team in. Unlike dungeons, if you lose you must leave — the arena is inaccessible again until you win a different arena fight (or some days pass).

When you win, one of your victorious fighters is stationed as a new defender, replacing the fighter who has defended the longest. That fighter cannot be used elsewhere while defending. Winning also earns mining power from a separate arena mining pool.

◌ DUNGEONS

Dungeons are the primary PvE content in Alien Legends. Travel to a dungeon tile, select your squad and difficulty, and send your fighters in. The higher the dungeon's rating shown on the map, the better the TLM and Shard rewards for winning.

⚙ PRE-COMBAT MATH

MECHANICS

Before a fight starts, the exact values for that combat are calculated. Fighters don't have fixed stats — each has a range for Health, Damage, Windup, Cooldown, and Taunt. One value is randomly selected from each range at the start of every fight.

On top of that, all buffs and debuffs from both teams are applied before the first action. This means every fight plays out slightly differently, even with the same team.

◌ DUNGEON FUNCTIONALITY

HOW TO PLAY

Move to a dungeon tile, select your combatants and a difficulty. Enemies are drawn randomly from the top of the leaderboard — the higher the difficulty, the harder the fight and the greater the rewards. Difficulty works like fighter level and can go above level 10. Dungeons at difficulty below level 5 have reduced enemy strength.

One dungeon can only be cleared once per day — choose your difficulty wisely.

Higher difficulty awards more XP to participating fighters and increases the reward pool. Winning also earns dungeon mining points based on your selected mining gear, the dungeon's rating, and the difficulty level cleared. You also earn leaderboard points for each dungeon level cleared, with daily rewards for top positions.

Each dungeon run draws from a dual reward pool: the player earns TLM, Shards, and Credits, while a share also flows to the building owner. Higher difficulty and more player traffic increase the overall pool. Running regularly on a high-traffic dungeon maximises both your payout and the landowner's passive income.

⬡ TAVERNS

Taverns are where you find and recruit new fighters. Each one is tied to a specific land plot and planet — you must travel there to use it. Upon visiting a highlighted tavern with an applicant inside, you can see all details about your potential new fighter.

🗺 STEP 1 — TRAVEL

Navigate to the Tavern's planet and coordinates. If it's on another planet, this costs Energy to travel. The Tavern is owned by a landowner — high-traffic taverns near portals will have more visitors and may cycle fighters more frequently.

When a tavern has an applicant inside, you can view all details about the potential fighter — class, race, element, rarity, and full stats — before committing anything. If interested, you can hire them immediately for 100 Energy.

🎲 STEP 3 — THE SIDE GAME

Instead of paying full price, you can play a side game to reduce the one-time hire cost. The applicant has criteria they want their new employer to meet. Present up to three Alien Worlds NFTs you own and try to fulfill as many of their requirements as possible — the more you satisfy, the bigger the discount.

🎯 FILTER CRITERIA

Tavern owners can set filter criteria that reward matching players with a hire discount. Criteria include:

Check the active filter before deciding which fighter to hire — sometimes a less ideal fighter that matches the filter is the better economic choice.

🌦 WEATHER

All fights are subject to the current weather effects, which are shown before you enter a fight. Weather per building changes once per day. Effects range from minor buffs — like increased damage or reduced haste for a few fighters — all the way to total game-changers. Weather tends to be weakest in dungeons and strongest in the weekly tournament.

⚡ HOW WEATHER WORKS

Before entering any fight, the active weather effects for that building are displayed. Effects apply to one or more elements and can include damage bonuses, haste reductions, defence changes, and more. Always check the weather and adjust your team accordingly — the right element matchup under favourable weather can decide the fight.

📊 WEATHER INTENSITY

Weather effects scale with the type of content. Dungeons have the mildest weather effects, making them a safer environment to ignore weather. Arenas have moderate effects. The weekly tournament has the strongest weather of all — teams not built around the current weather will be at a significant disadvantage.

✦ FIGHTER PROGRESSION & ASCENSION

Fighters begin at Level 1 when recruited. Winning dungeon fights earns them XP, and once they have enough they can be levelled up — all the way to the cap of Level 10, at which point Ascension becomes available.

📈 LEVELLING UP

Fighters earn XP from winning dungeon fights, with more XP awarded at higher difficulty levels. Once enough XP has accumulated you can manually level the fighter up. This increases their stat ranges and unlocks more powerful ability scaling. The maximum level before Ascension is Level 10.

✦ ASCENSION

At Level 10, a fighter can Ascend. Most ascensions grant a small but permanent increase to stats. The fifth ascension is special — it unlocks the fighter's third ability. In theory, the number of ascensions per fighter is unlimited, so repeated ascending continues to grow a fighter's power ceiling over time.

💸 WAGES & AGING

Fighters expect to be paid regularly. If you fail to pay wages for too long, the fighter will eventually leave without compensation. Separately, fighters grow older over time — their stats slowly decline as they age. Both mechanics incentivise active roster management and keeping fighters productive.

Weekly tournaments are planned for later in Open Alpha or towards the end of it. They represent the highest-stakes PvP competition in Alien Legends, with the strongest weather effects of any game mode. Details on format and rewards will be added when available.

Each fighter is created with 3 ability slots rolled from weighted pools specific to their class. Slot 1 contains the class's signature abilities — fewer options, higher impact. Slots 2 & 3 draw from a larger shared pool. Percentages are weight ÷ total weight for that slot, pulled live from the game contract.

Welcome to Alien Legends (ALE)!

You are among the first explorers to walk the lands of Alien Worlds in the search of glory.

Landowners will construct a building on their land to enable explorers to recruit, train, and compete with their fighters in search of grand rewards.

Here you will find the process to begin your journey, and it starts now.

In this walkthrough, we'll lay out the basics of game flow first, touch on some strategies, and then get into some of the technical stuff.

Your first task is to create your Trainer — the identity you'll carry with you across every planet, dungeon, and arena in the game.

Choose wisely: your Trainer name becomes your in-game handle for Alien Legends.

Each planet hosts its own set of Taverns and Dungeons — some may have better fighters available, others more rewarding dungeons. Use your Energy to travel across the lands, searching far and wide for each fighter to understand the power that's inside.

Taverns are your next stop. Here, a side game lets you choose relevant Alien Worlds NFTs from your wallet to lower the hire cost in Energy for the fighter currently available. You can inspect the fighter's full stats before committing — but the more fighters you assemble, the stronger your team! Hire them on and move to the next Tavern to keep building your roster. Remember: fighters are randomly generated, with random stat rolls, class, race, and element.

To start a fight in Dungeon or Arena you need at least 5 Alien Legends fighters + one Crew and one Arms NFT from Alien Worlds.

AW Crew & Arms form your sixth fighter — their abilities and stats are based on your choice of NFT.

Enemy teams in Dungeon have 5 fighters (not 6) up to difficulty level 4.

Winning a Dungeon gives leaderboard points equal to the difficulty level you selected.

The Dungeon leaderboard decays by 10% each day.

The more Arenas you defend simultaneously, the greater your domination rewards per Arena.

As you buy Gems in the Shop, a portion of your spending increases the future reward pool of Alien Legends.

As fighters age, they get weaker.

Staking or unstaking in Farming automatically triggers a claim.

Equip better Tools to increase reward power from Dungeon and Arena victories.

Most abilities can vary greatly in strength — two fighters with the same ability may have very different versions.
